Scheduled closures and work zones within 25 miles on the highways that
serve the community, county-reported issues within ~20 miles, and a
live traffic map.
SCDOT, 511SC, 511GA and Anderson County — monitored continuously.
Six highways are watched (I-85 in Georgia and South Carolina, SC-11, SC-24, SC-28, SC-59 and SC-243). Only I-85 between Lavonia and Anderson is announced, and only when traffic there is actually affected.
Nothing on this page is typed in by hand. Small programs run on a schedule around the clock, collect public road data and keep what matters to Seminole Point in the site’s own database; the rest is fetched live from its source.
South Carolina DOT’s road-conditions feed is checked every hour and Georgia’s 511GA every 10 minutes. We keep what falls on the six highways we watch (I‑85 in both states, SC‑11, 24, 28, 59 and 243) and scheduled work within 25 miles. SCDOT’s feed is planned construction only; it never lists wrecks.

Road and infrastructure problems reported by the public through SeeClickFix, the reporting service Anderson County uses. We show those within 10 miles of the neighborhood by default (up to 20), refreshed at most every 15 minutes, and link each one back to the original.

Only I‑85 between Lavonia (exit 173) and Anderson (exit 21). A full closure there is posted at once; anything else is posted only if the speed check below shows traffic slowing. Closures on SC‑11, 24, 28, 59 and 243 are planned construction, listed on the Planned Construction tab instead, and everything else stays on this page. Posts go on the site’s Announcements page; only the site administrator is emailed. South Carolina reports come from 511SC incident emails, Georgia’s from 511GA. The Recent Events tab lists every report and why it was or wasn’t posted.

Every 20 minutes the site asks Google how long each six-mile stretch of I‑85 is taking in each direction, compared with its usual time. A stretch running 5 minutes or 50% slower trips a check, and the site looks through the feeds above for a cause. A slowdown between Lavonia and Anderson is posted whether or not anyone has reported a cause, and the post is updated to say “Cleared” when traffic returns to normal. A reported incident that causes no slowdown within an hour is never posted. If this check stops working, the site falls back to posting lane-blocking reports without it. Google’s figures are used in the moment and not kept, as its terms require.
